Prediabetes and type 2 diabetes is dominating our country's health scene today. Are you or someone you care about suffering from diabetes? Point is, if you or someone you know has been diagnosed with diabetes then you know how complicated managing it can be. I want you to know it doesn't have to be complicated. Managing and even reversing diabetes can become simple, like riding a bicycle.

I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes June 8, 1972 following an automobile accident and am extremely passionate about helping others reverse their prediabetes or type 2 diabetes conditions. Type 1 diabetes is not reversible however can also be easily managed with my coaching methods. My work is proven and effective using methods by the right system, right support, and right accountability.

Let's Get Serious! You CAN succeed and gain better health beginning today!

According to the American Diabetes Association (ADA) before people develop type 2 diabetes, they almost always have prediabetes indicating blood glucose levels are higher than normal but not elevated enough to be diagnosed as diabetes. There are no clear symptoms of prediabetes so someone may have it not knowing. Some people with prediabetes may be experiencing symptoms of diabetes (below) or even problems from the disease. The way to find whether this condition affects you is with a lab test ordered by a physician. Prediabetes does not automatically develop into type 2 diabetes, although it could.

This condition can be reversed with my coaching methods. Early lifestyle changes can actually return blood glucose levels to the normal range.

If I may, I ask you to write down the most important things in your life making #1 the most important, #2 the next most important, and so on:
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

Now consider this: whether any one of the most important things you listed can be enjoyed without your health and energy to do it. Get real, how many books have you read and diets have been followed and you're still struggling? There is no harm asking, guaranteed! Contact me today with the phone and/or email written below and discover how simple it really is.

The ADA advocates how research shows anyone can lower their risk of developing type 2 diabetes by 58%. The ADA suggests by losing 7% body weight (or 15 pounds if you weigh 200 pounds) and including moderate exercise (i.e. brisk walking) 30 minutes a day, five days a week, the condition is reversible. This may sound difficult right now although with my coaching methods, reversing prediabetes and type 2 diabetes can become very simple and is most effective.

Classic symptoms of diabetes may include:
  • frequent urination
  • excessive thirst
  • excessive hunger
  • extreme fatigue
  • blurred vision
  • cuts/bruises healing slowly
  • unexplained weight loss
  • tingling, pain, or numbness in hands and/or feet
Lab results indicating prediabetes:
  • A1C of 5.7% - 6.4% (This is a blood test that provides information about a person's average levels of blood glucose over the past 3 months.)
  • Fasting blood glucose of 100-125 mg/dl (This blood test measures blood glucose after not eating for at least 8 hours.)
  • Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) 2 hour blood glucose of 140 mg/dl - 199 mg/dl (This test is most likely used to diagnose gestational diabetes during pregnancy.)
Type 2 diabetes lab results indicate the next highest result from the above list.

*Coaching cannot replace appropriate treatment by a qualified physician however has shown to reduce what it's costing you.

Want to Learn Mindful Eating?

Mindful eating is about maintaining your preferred weight. But first, why talk about eating mindfully anyway? "Good Question!"

In the modern world we eat for convenience rather than for the benefits of nutrition. We eat for instant gratification rather than thinking about your long-term health benefits. Can you imagine learning a new way to eat and actually slow down so you can experience the tastes, textures, and pleasant aromas of your food, rather than wolfing it down in a hurry or snacking on the go? You can learn to slow down and eat mindfully. I can help you to see the food you eat as essential medicine that not only nourishes your whole system, but also tastes delicious!
So what is mindful eating?

Mindful eating means taking time to honor your food and your body by choosing high quality select foods, preparing it with care and eating slowly using your five senses, and really enjoy it. It means allocating quiet time to prepare and enjoy eating your meal without rushing or multitasking at the same time. Mindful eating is a way of saying to yourself, "I respect my body enough to be mindful of what I put into it and of the way I eat." Think of it as a form of meditation. It means choosing to be present with your food and the way you eat it. You can either spend valuable money on select high quality foods at the grocery store or spend your money paying for doctor visits.

Enjoy eating on purpose, it's not by accident.

My clients have proven that eating mindfully helps to:

  • Sense intuitively when they've eaten enough without overeating
  • Gain way more satisfaction from eating
  • Develop a healthy relationship with food
  • View food a necessity
  • Discover pleasant new tastes and textures
  • Improve digestion (less gas and bloating)
  • Regulate bowel movement
  • Discover food sensitivities
  • Create healthy habits that energize them
  • Lose that stubborn weight, for GOOD!
So how will I know it's time to learn mindful eating?
"Glad you asked!"

It's time for you to learn mindful eating if you answer "Yes" to any of these:

  • You are bloated after eating
  • You eat to feel full not to enjoy the tastes
  • You eat to numb out
  • You feel bloated easily
  • You gain weight easily, especially in your belly
  • You crave sugar or starchy foods
  • You have difficulty focusing or have, "foggy brain"
  • You feel lethargic after eating
  • You have allergies or hay fever
  • You feel addicted to eating foods that aren't healthy and can't stop
  • You have extra pounds that won't come off with diet and exercise
  • You think aches and pains are justified because of, "your age"
  • You ask yourself, "What does this mean?"
You can learn to eat mindfully

In my health coaching practice, I help you discover what triggers overeating or binge eating. Then lead you through a step-by-step process to learn how to eat mindfully. You learn what to eat for your unique body type. If you answered "yes" to any of the symptoms listed above, now is the time to talk with me about how you can learn to eat mindfully. I'll help you understand what's blocking you from eating mindfully and you'll learn a proven system how to get started.
